Leading her baroque ensemble Orfeo 55, Nathalie Stutzmann performs in Quella Fiamma highlights from the Arie Antiche collection, a must-known by singers. Like 19th century scholars who discovered and edited this collection of works from the past, Nathalie Stutzmann and her wonderful musicians present them for the first time in their original orchestration. They thus throw a fascinating and energetic light on these tunes of Handel, Caccini, Porpora and many other Baroque masters.
This album also gives pride of place to the continuo, of which Patrick Langot was the cellist between 2010 and 2018. He is also the soloist of the 3rd mvt of the Concerto for cello and orchestra by Nicola Porpora.

À la tête de son ensemble baroque Orfeo 55, Nathalie Stutzmann interprète dans Quella Fiamma les airs du recueil Arie Antiche, bien connu des chanteurs. À la manière des érudits du XIXe siècle qui découvrirent et éditèrent cette collection d’œuvres du passé, Nathalie Stutzmann et ses merveilleux musiciens les présentent pour la première fois dans leur orchestration d’origine. Ils jettent ainsi un éclairage passionnant et énergique sur ces airs de Haendel, Caccini, Porpora et bien d’autres maîtres baroques.
Ce disque fait la part belle au continuo de l’ensemble, dont Patrick Langot a été le violoncelliste entre 2010 et 2018. Il est également le soliste du 3e mvt du Concerto pour violoncelle et orchestre de Porpora.
